DashCalc is an independent iOS app that helps delivery drivers decide whether a job offer is worth taking and keep a log of the jobs they accept. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.
In one sentence: DashCalc runs entirely on your device — it has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and makes no network connections at all; everything it keeps (your inputs, settings, and any jobs you log) stays on your phone.
Who we are
DashCalc is built and maintained by an individual developer ("we", "us"). The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DoorDash, Uber, or any delivery platform. Those names, where they appear, refer only to the services a driver works for.
Photos access
With your permission, DashCalc can read your most recent screenshot or photo (taken in the last minute) to auto-fill a job's pay and distance. This works using Apple's on-device text recognition (Vision) — the image is processed entirely on your phone and is never uploaded or sent anywhere.
- A photo is only read for this auto-fill; it is not copied out of your library.
- A screenshot is only saved into the app (into your job history) if you choose to log that job. You can delete a logged job — and its screenshot — at any time.
- You can turn this off with the Auto-fill from photo switch in Settings, or revoke photo access in iOS Settings. The app still works — you just enter jobs manually.
What the app stores, and why
| Data | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Calculator inputs (distance, pay, items) | Remember the current job and show its verdict | Stored locally on your device only |
| Settings (rate thresholds, units, theme, speed) | Tune the verdict to how you work | Stored locally on your device only |
| Logged jobs (pay, distance, items, verdict, date, and the offer screenshot if you logged one) | Keep a weekly history of accepted jobs and earnings | Stored locally on your device only |
These are saved in the app's local settings (iOS UserDefaults) and its
on-device database on your phone. We keep this solely to provide the app's
functionality. We do not use any of it for tracking, advertising, profiling, or
analytics.
What we do NOT do
- We do not operate any backend server, and the app makes no network requests.
- We do not require an account, name, email, or any sign-in.
- We do not collect analytics or telemetry about you or your usage.
- We do not include advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not upload, sell, rent, or share your information — none of it ever leaves your device.
Where your data is sent
Nowhere. DashCalc works fully offline and does not transmit any data off your device.
Deleting your data
All of the app's data lives on your device. You can delete individual logged jobs in the History screen, and deleting the app removes everything it has stored — there is nothing held anywhere else to delete.
Children
DashCalc is a tool for working delivery drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
