TentControl is an independent iOS app for monitoring and controlling your own grow-tent environmental controller. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.
In one sentence: TentControl has no servers of its own, runs no analytics, shows no ads, and keeps your credentials on your device — the only data it transmits is what's needed to sign in to and operate your own equipment.
Who we are
TentControl is built and maintained by an individual developer ("we", "us"). The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the manufacturer of your controller hardware.
What the app collects, and why

We collect this solely to provide the app's functionality. We do not use any of it for tracking, advertising, profiling, or analytics.
What we do NOT do
- We do not operate any backend server that receives your data.
- We do not collect analytics or telemetry about you or your usage.
- We do not include advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
Where your data is sent
To work, the app communicates over encrypted HTTPS/TLS with the cloud service of your controller platform (the same service the official manufacturer app uses) to authenticate and to read/command your equipment. That communication is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
Local storage and security
- Your account secret (access token) is stored in the iOS Keychain.
- Your email, equipment identifiers, and preferences are stored in the app's local settings on the device.
- Nothing is stored off-device by us.
Demo Mode
The app includes a Demo Mode that runs against simulated data with no network connection and no real credentials. No personal data is collected or transmitted in Demo Mode.
Deleting your data
- In the app: "Sign out" (Settings → Account) removes your stored credentials and token from the device.
- Your platform account: TentControl cannot create or delete accounts on the controller platform. To delete your controller-platform account itself, use the manufacturer's official app or website.
Children
TentControl is a tool for operating physical equipment and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
